Rosie Weisencrantz subscribes to ethical practices. By recycling, reclaiming and re-using wherever possible, we are committed to creating beautiful vintage jewellery that doesn't cost the earth, thus demonstrating that we can feel good and look gorgeous all at the same time. By rediscovering value and beauty in what we already have, rather than worshipping at the altar of *more*, we can begin to be part of the change we hope to see in the world.

We choose to minimise our impact on the environment in the following ways:

By using recycled materials wherever possible
By recycling our own waste wherever possible
By using a green energy supplier in the workplace
By using packaging that is made from recycled paper
By using electronic mail as opposed to hard copy wherever possible

Rosie Weisencrantz is a member of Eco Design Network (an exclusive membership initiative in East London where good design and environmental practices go hand in hand). As part of this venture we have fulfilled the criteria of an environmental audit.

All of our brooches, beads and trinkets are carefully sourced and are mainly vintage (1920s -1960s) and occasionally antique (pre 1920s). Many of our glass beads originate from an old museum in the Czech Republic. Occassionally you will see marks on some of our antique beads and trinkets that reflect thier age.

The only time we resort to buying “new” components is in the use of findings in the form of beadcaps, earwires and headpins. However, before buying new, we always investigate the possibility of buying close – out / end of line stock first, to reduce environmmental impact.

The earwires are always new, either silver or 14 Karat goldfill Our beadcaps are a mix of vintage, and new.

Our packaging and stationary is made from recycled paper.

Our heartfelt philosophy is to create that which has a value beyond the material.
